I ran the installers, I tried dragging-and-dropping method, and 90% of the Infragistics tools are grayed out. Plus, I don't really see anything that explains installation and primary use, all the "Getting started" tutorials start from the point you have a control on your form. That's NOT where you start, you have to get the thing there first! Someone please help!

Starting at the beginning, I am going to assume that you didn’t have any issues when running the installer and that you had Visual Studio closed during the installation since you see the tools in the toolbox but they appear to be greyed out.
Open up a new Silverlight application using .Net Framework 4 and when prompted select Silverlight 5 from the Silverlight Version dropdown. You should now see the NetAdvantage Silverlight tools in the Visual Studio Toolbox.
