How to render a xamHtmlViewer to a bitmap to include in Reporting?
posted

(Cross-posted from the xamHtmlViewer after no response there.)

I am trying to export a dashboard using Infragistics reporting. I can successfully render all of my graphs and tables, but have had no luck with xamHtmlViewer. Can you point me to the right way to get a xamHtmlViewer into a bitmap?

Thanks,

Mike

P.S. I can successfully do this on our WPF side using the WPF WebBrowser and using a complicated procedure using XpsDocument, but I don't think that stands any chance of working in Silverlight.

    Hi Mike,

This is something I had tried before but due to the nature of the XamHtmlViewer in Silverlight and how it works, this currently isn't possible.  The reason it doesn't work is because Silverlight isn't actually doing any of the rendering.  The XamHtmlViewer let's the browser handle the rendering so using techniques that would normally render Silverlight controls to an image will generate blank images.  What you would need is something that can generate an image from HTML.
