Outlook GroupBy not working in quirks mode?
posted

Hi All!

I'm running my app without any DOCTYPE which results in qirks mode. I develop for IE6.0 and IE7.0.

The problem is that the WebGrid if I use GroupBy  overlaps the rows. If I expand a GroupBy row it only shoves the next GroupBy row by one row. Thus if there are more than one row in the group they are overlapped by all following rows or GroupBy rows.

I use version  7.2.20072.61. Is there a workaround or a fix for that?

Thanks in advance.

Bob

Okay, I tested more. Here is how to reproduce the behaviour. Put a WebGrid  on a Webform and bind it to a DataSource. Now put a WebpageStyler on the Form and enable AppStyling in the Grid. In the WebForm Source Remove the DOCTYPE Tag. This is enough to reproduce the behaviour. If you group by a column now you will see what I mean.

This is not helping me much. First, I use AppStyling a lot and second, my page design is quiet complex. If I disable AppStyling on my original grid it's still not working. So there must be something that prevents the GroupBy from working that I use in my design too.

    Hello Bob -

I have run into this issue as well.  I am running IF 2007.2 b.1078.  I designed my app to be cross browser compatible with Safari, Firefox, Netscape, and IE on Mac, along with the same set on PC.  In IE6 I am showing the same problem that you described above.  I have submitted an IR to IF and it has the ID of: WbG50469.  Have you found a solution to this problem?

    TIA -
