I'm trying to create a map of our sales alignment, which is broken in to four regions in the US. The region codes are letters (V W Y Z). I'd like to get the map colored by region. If I change the region codes to numbers (1 2 3 4) everything works perfectly. However, in order to be able to show the data I need to, I need the codes to be letters. Is there a way to do this?
Could you color the elements individually? Or do you need the color scale to be present?

I think the value stops may be only anticipating a double value. It may be possible for you to restyle the color legend to transform back to your lettered regions in the legend, but I haven't looked into this yet.
