wants to place a ajax:sliderExtender in ultrawebgrid column

when i am adding  ajax:sliderExtender i am getting the following error:

"The base class includes the field 'SliderExtender3', but its type (System.Web.UI.HtmlControls.HtmlGenericControl) is not compatible with the type of control (AjaxControlToolkit.SliderExtender)."

can anyone help me out how can i solve this problem. some times i am getting the error as the control is not implemente IProviderEmbededEditable.
