This problem affects all editable WebCombos.  They ignore the FieldLen and Format attributes.  Here's another option...

Within InitializeCombo event call the following function:

function  WebCombo_InitializeCombo(ComboID) {

//  Grab reference to WebCombo

var  WebCombo = igcmbo_getComboById(ComboID);

//  Grab reference to WebCombo's internal edit box

var 

}
