Are there any plans to release vector based icons? I can't see myself buying any more bitmap images at this point, expecting that most of my UI development will be in WPF.

It's hard to say at this point, exactly what will prove to be useful. In the past, it's been pretty easy because icons and bitmaps were straightforward - you use an icon when an icon's appropriate and a bitmap otherwise.
Suddenly, we're starting to get our feet with in scalable UIs. Bitmaps don't scale, of course. I've been making my own vector images for "icons" and "bitmaps" in my UI and - needless to say - they're pretty ratty!
I don't know enough about what's possible in vector resources. I don't know how often I'll even need to resize them. I think in a perfect world everything would be vector and resizable, but would also look rich and detailed. Is this possible?
I found one vendor selling a collection, but with my limited understanding, I had a hard time actually using them in the format the samples were delivered. It was quite labor intensive.
Something I've always been intrigued with, and vector formats would finally make it achievable, is the ability to tweak and even combine images to form composites. Pick an image for a document. Then you can comine the search, delete, new, print, etc. image with it to form any conceivable combination. In the past it's been maddening to find different combinations that left me with inconsistent images in my app because the author hadn't made every combination.
