"The NetAdvantage for JSF 2008 volume 2 with support for JSF 1.2 release does not work in Sun® Application Server 9.1."
Wow this is a pretty big deal. What is the ETA on getting this working?
Thanks!
Hi nougat98,
It's a known issue and we felt that it is fair to be put in the documentation. The issue is only with JSF implementation for Sun Application Server 9.1. It should be fixed in next hotfix.
The components works normally with their implementation for JSF 1.1, so it can be used like in previous version. Also you can use other JSF implementation of JSF 1.2 (like Sun RI or Myfaces)
Could you tell me what version of SAS and NetAdvantage for JSF you are using?
Thanks,
George
Hello,
I've looked at the release notes, and I'm not sure what the actual issue is with running your component set with 9.1 (1.2_04p02). Could you please provide details?

is this something I need to explicitly point Glassfish to see? I don't see any options related to TLDs on the Glassfish admin page.
I don't think any GF config options are going to help you here.
You could try with replacing the JSF implementation with Sun RI.
The reason for not working is that SAS implementation is looking for set method with ValueExpression as parameter. We have set method which is expecting Object as parameter.
It is working nice with all other implementations that we had try. The reason to put this in the documentation is that we noticed that problem right before the release and want to be fair with the developers and warn them.
We are looking for a solution which will be included in the HotFix.
Best,George
how is that HotFix coming along?
Hi,
We are actively working on the Hotfix for NetAdvantage for JSF 2008 volume 2.
Keep your eye on Grigor Svetoslavov's blog for more updates on the HotFix
