Hello.
After creating an MVC 4 app using the "IgniteUI Starter MVC 4 (Razor) " template in Visual Studio 2012 Ultimate Update1, the application gets corrupted after saving it.
Steps to reproduce
1) Create a new project using the IgniteUI Starter MVC 4 (Razor) template,
2) Click File/Save or File/Save As or File/Save All, and specify a different directory.
3) Run the app.
4) A "Debugging Not Enabled" dialog box appears. Selecting "Add a new Web.config file with debugging enabled" then results in "Destination File Exists" dialog. Selecting "Yes" or "No" results in "The operation could not be completed. Unspecified error."
Please advise.
Thank you,
Mike
Hello Mike,
I am following up to see if you can provide me with answers to my questions. Please let me know if I may be of further assistance with this matter.
Thank you for the update. I have been updating the created case as well as this forum thread. If you wish to continue correspondence through the case only you can update the case and I will leave the thread alone. As for the Newtonsoft.json I believe this may be related to that package. As I don’t see it when I run/create my sample. Have you tried creating a separate project using a different template from the Ignite UI one? Are you able to see the same issue?
Hi, Mike.
You want me to enable directory browsing?
I would never enable that.
Also, could you please correspond about this problem through the opened case?
I've found that, after saving "AS", if I close the solution AND visual studio, then start VS again and open the solution, clean and recompile, it works.
However, closing VS and opening it and the solution a second time results in a filenotfound exception in Global.asax when processing the global configuration. It's looking for Newtonsoft.json. I have to add it through the "Tools/Library Package Manager/Manage NuGet Packages for Solution ...". Happens every time.
Can you verify that?
Please advise,
Thank you for the update. I have looked further into this matter and have discussed this with my team. I believe this has to do with your IIS setting. In the final slide it has a few recommendations have you tried these? Can you please do so? What is the result?
I reproduced the steps by using Windows' Problem Steps Recorder. Unfortunately the .zip file that was created was a little over 2Mb, so I couldn't upload it here.
I opened cas CAS-111177-V5P6W0. Please refer to it moving forward.
FYI, the product verson is 2012.2. File version of Infragistics.Web.Mvc.dll is 4.12.2.2113.
