I put together a sample site (on our intranet) and used the JQuery "Theme Switcher" to toggle between themes. I had one of each Jquery control on the page so that I could observe the look and feel of the controls as different themes were applied.
All of the controls seemed to apply the them correctly, except the igRating widget/control. On some themes, it looked good, but on others, it looked absolutely horrid. At times, you could not see what you were rating, nor the result. It did seem to look a little better on these themes after you clicked onto another part of the page and the igRating widget lost "focus".
I'm using IE8 and I'm not in compatibility mode.
Hello Tony,
Thank you for your feedback.
Let me know if you have any further questions.
I just did. Thank you. I see the same behavior as what I had in my test page, so it must not really be an issue with the control as much as it is with the theme chosen. Several of the themes just don't seem to work well with the rating control. on some, the difference between a rating and the normal star color are almost indistinguishable, such as "Cupertino" or "Eggplant". However, I'm now wondering how much of that is my monitor as well as the themes poor choice of colors. My initial thought was that perhaps the wrong classes where being used on the various elements in the control, that these themes should look better for the rating control, as they do for the grid and editors, but perhaps not.
Anyway, I'm convinced now that it's a theme issue and not a control issue.
Did you check our online sample demonstrating usage of Theme Roller in “Rating” control - http://samples.infragistics.com/jquery/rating/theme-roller ?
Test this example and let me know if you have the same experience as in your example with this online example.
Sorry, didnt' get an email on the response.
The references where correct. I've seen where they weren't though, where you don't see the stars of the rating control, but something that might resemble a stick figure swimming. However, that's not the issue. I have the references correct and see the stars. It's just that for many themes, the colors look way off and it can be very difficult to tell what the rating is vs the effect of moving the mouse over the rating.
Hi Tony,
Did you have a chance to check you css references?
Thanks,
