To address your question, what I can say is that the track area between two thumbs in the XamDateTimeRangeSlider is shaded by default. In this topic of our documentation about the XamSlider thumbs, a picture shows the DateTime range slider appearance by default.

What I observe is, that the track before the first thumb is also colored. I am under the impression that your requirement is to have only the track between the two thumbs in your slider colored, is that correct?

Conveniently, each  XamSliderDateTimeThumb exposes the TrackFillBrush property, which allows to set this color fore the track before it. For example, with the below code:

            <ig:XamDateTimeRangeSlider.Thumbs>
                <ig:XamSliderDateTimeThumb Value="4/1/2023" TrackFillBrush="Transparent"/>
                <ig:XamSliderDateTimeThumb Value="8/1/2023" TrackFillBrush="DeepPink" />
            </ig:XamDateTimeRangeSlider.Thumbs>
