Please refer to above image. When date picker is opened it focuses on the current date if no date is set already. Is there any way to update this date?

I have been looking into your question and what I could say is that by default on dropdown/dialog opening, if no date has been selected, the focused/highlighted date will be the current date, i.e., today.
Additionally, the IgxDatePicker provides some calendar specific customizations, such as displayMonthsCount, weekStart, showWeekNumbers, etc., however, as mentioned in the IgxDatePicker’s specifications here, highlight of today's date is not included. This is the expected behavior and is not customizable.
A possible approach is setting the minValue property which will focus the desired date, however, it will not allow selecting a date before this value.
