Hello. I work infragistic at work on win7, i dont remember what version is at the moment(writing from home) and i was wondering if they will work on windows 8 aswell. I tried using them twice on different computers for vs2008 but i had errors about licence key. And when i format and went back to win7 it worked fine. So do i need another version of infragistics to work my vs2008 projects on win8?
It is expected that applications that run on Windows 7 will also run on Windows 8 so it is expected that the controls will work in the newer operating system as well. If you have specific issues, please post them in the forums for the appropriate control so that we can look into them.
For the errors that you had about the license key, this sounds more like a general installation issue where maybe the licensing can't be found though to know what specifically was wrong it would help to have more specific details about the errors.
Let me know if you have any questions with this matter.
Thank you for the reply. Ill get a new laptop in a few days and set my work there. If i have the issue i talked about ill reply to my post. Keep it open for a few days till i get back to you with either good or bad news.
Hello,
If I understand your issue correctly, if you drag another NetAdvantage control on the form it will work but when you drag a grid on you get an error. I would like you to follow these steps and send me the project file that is created so I can review the references.
After these steps, zip the project file and send me this file so I can review the references. Note that you can attach files directly to your post from the OPTIONS tab when you are writing your post.
unfortunately nothing works. I get the same errors when I insert anything from infragistics to the form. Hence nothing is added on the form.
Hello Antonis,
Thank you for your response. I have created CAS-122525-R1T2C0 for this issue. When there is a final resolution for this issue, I will post it on this thread.
As it turns out, this error is occurring because your local user on the Windows 8 machine doesn't have permission to access the section of the registry the licensing information is installed to.
As it turns out, the ultimate cause of this issue is that the license information was never installed on the Windows 8 PC. This is most likely because the installer for NetAdvantage 2007 Volume 1 was released long before Windows 8 and since it is no longer being maintained, there is no way for us to change the installer.
What you can do is export the appropriate registry keys from a PC where the license information was installed correctly and then import them into the registry of the Windows 8 PC. I have provided more details about the specific keys through the support case.
