Migration from framework 2.0 to 4.0 platform. We need to migrate the infragistics controls also. Can you point to some documents or links that will give a head start?

    Udhayakumar,

The steps are to upgrade the version of the .NET Framework that you are targeting in Visual Studio from 2.0 to 4.5.  If this involves moving to a newer version of Visual Studio, you may also need to upgrade the project and/or solution.  Once this is done you can update the Infragistics controls by running the Version Upgrade Utility that we provide with the toolset.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Alright, I started working on it and everything is going good except this one for now.

We are migrating from ASP.Net 2.0 to ASP.Net 4.0 Infragistics UltraWebGrid is also migrated to Infragistics35.WebUI.UltraWebGrid.v10.3

The Infragistics hierarchical grid, while drilling down to child grid,  produces two different versions of behavior in in IE 9 and Google Chrome  39.0.2171.99 m. In IE 9, the toggleRow, a javascript function kicks off and do the job nicely. No postback in IE 9. But in Chrome, it does a Postback and the page dies. If the ViewState is enabled, it succeeds in drilling down the child grid but the Postback still occurs. Any idea, how to attain the No-Postback situation in Chrome as well?

        Udhayakumar,

The UltraWebGrid was only supported in Internet Explorer and Firefox.  It is recommended that you use the WebHierarchicalDataGrid if you need support in Google Chrome.

Let me know if you have any questions with this matter.

        Hi Alan,

Thanks for your quick response. Not insisting you toomuch for an answer, can you give me some idea why one should be Postback trigger and another should be ending up in toogleRow client side javescript trigger, for expanding the child grid.

        IE 9
        <a href="BLOCKED SCRIPTigtbl_doPostBack('Grid$m_grid','Toggle:_0');"><img src="Images/rt_expand.gif"  border='0'></a>

        Google Chrome
        <img src="Images/rt_expand.gif" border='0' onclick="igtbl_toggleRow('Gridxmxgrid','Gridxmxgrid_r_0');" />

         Thanks in advance.

        Udhayakumar,

The grid renders differently depending on what the browser is and without a sample I wouldn't be able to tell you why the behavior is the way it is.  The recommendation is to replace the UltraWebGrid with the WebHierarchicalDataGrid which does support Google Chrome.

      Hi All,

I am working on migration of Asp.net application from framework 2.0 to 4.5 for IE11 support. We are using infragistics controls version 7.1. I have installed infragistics 15.1 on my windows 7 machine. I have used version upgrade utility but it can not convert classic retired control to newer version.I have below questions:

1)Do I need to replace each control manually?

      2) We are using 160 ultrawebgrid. Can you please provide best way to replace ultraweb grid to new web data grid ?

      3) Is support of infragistic 7.1 is still available?

Let me know if you need more details

        Apil,

We provide support for any volume for three years from the release of that volume so support for 2007 Volume 1 ended over five years ago.  For the controls, yes you will need to replace the controls manually.  For an approach to move from the UltraWebGrid to the newer controls refer to the following:

        https://www.infragistics.com/help/aspnet/gridmigrationoverview

Note that you may also want to consider using our newer igGrid built on top of the jQuery framework if it is an option for your grid.
