I’m thinking about setting up a server with infragistics to render pdf reports.

I wonder if I should invest more in CPU, GPU or both and if is possible configure to render by GPU.

Thanks

    Hello Airton,

Thank you for your post. I have been looking into it and I can say that the Reporting for Silverlight works as any other Silverlight control. Here you can read more about how to set your hardware acceleration:

    and

Please let me know if you have further questions on this matter.

    Looking forward for your reply.

      Thanks for your reply Stefan.

In my case I have many big reports that have multiple images and my idea would be to mount a server that has more processing power to render the reports faster than on client. Initially I had thought of creating a console application using the Infragistics.Documents.Reports to create the reports by requests via service. Should I rethink this application in sylverlight? It's more fast?

        Hello Airton,

You can see this links from our documentation, where it is explained hopw to integrate Reports with SL or WPF application and how to configure them to render on the server:

        http://help.infragistics.com/Help/Doc/Reporting/2012.1/CLR4.0/HTML/How_to_Create_a_Report_and_Integrate_It_Into_a_Silverlight_Application.html

        http://help.infragistics.com/Help/Doc/Reporting/2012.1/CLR4.0/HTML/How_to_Integrate_Reports_into_SL_and%20WPF_Apps_Using_Report_Viewer.html

        http://help.infragistics.com/Help/Doc/Reporting/2012.1/CLR4.0/HTML/Configuring%20the%20XAML%20Report%20Viewer%20for%20Client%20or%20Server-Side%20Rendering.html

Also here you can see how to integrate it with Azure:

        http://es.infragistics.com/community/blogs/mihail_mateev/archive/2011/12/27/deployment-of-applications-with-infragistics-reporting-in-windows-azure.aspx

Also I can say that speed of rendering depends on the speed of the server and if you enable GPU acceleration it will depend on the GPU of the server.
