I'm not sure why this is so dificult to find! I've read through the documentation and it is not clear to me when I would use one versus the other. Can someone point me to a post? We need to display and interact with the map.
Also, it appears as though both provide the ability to display maps with different data series. I cannot find documentation on whether it is possible to click and collect the lat/long of the points and whether it is possible to DRAW a polygone on the map and collect the points?
We have release 2014.1 (14.1) full release at our disposal. Thank You.
Hello Bob,
Thank you for your post.
I have been looking into it. It seems that your issue was discussed at the following forum thread:
http://es.infragistics.com/community/forums/t/83976.aspx
Also you can find more details for both controls at the following links:
XamGeographicMap: http://help.infragistics.com/doc/WPF/2014.2/CLR4.0/?page=xamGeographicMap.html
XamMap: http://help.infragistics.com/doc/WPF/2014.2/CLR4.0/?page=xamMap.html
You can see more samples with XamGeographicMap and XamMap, where was demonstrated how you can use the controls in different scenario from following links:
http://es.infragistics.com/samples/wpf/geographic-map/overview

Please let me know if you need any further assistance on the matter.
I am just checking if there is anything else I can do for you.
Thank You for the links I can see now that the xamGeographic control is the one to go with (WPF in our case). I still dont't see a sample where I can draw dynamically with my mouse a line, circle or polygone shape. All I see are samples for data binding, other than the one sample that shows how to click a location and get the lat/long.
Could you provide a link or explain if this feature is possible with the control. I want to draw a point, line, circle or polygone on the map and collect the information afterwards. It would be preferable if the polygone displayed shaded/colour filled as the user clicked the shape. Thank You.
